Home Child Care
Jubilee Heritage Family Resources Home Child Care program offers a complimentary/alternative to traditional Day Care services.
Depending on availability, we may be able to accommodate for schedules and ages of children that fall outside of normal Child Care availability.
Home Child Care is available 7 days a week for up to 24 hours a day, for children from birth to 12 years of age and for a maximum of 6 children in each location.
Child care is provided by selected, screened, trained, and approved private individuals who are continually monitored and supported by JHFR, Ministry of Education Child Care Quality Assurance & Licensing Branch, and the Greater City of Sudbury Children’s Services.
Home Child Care locations are situated throughout the Sudbury District and Area.

Licensed Home Child Care can help you make a quality child care choice. Our home child care programs offer children individualized care in small group settings that often become, ‘a home away from home’.
Choosing Licensed Home Child Care
Our providers homes are welcoming and comforting for children of all ages. JHFR Home Child Care Program provides the following:
- Flexible hours of care and flexible daily schedule

- Alternate care may be provided when the provider is unavailable due to sickness or vacation time

- Home providers use the How Does Learning Happen ? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years resource as a guide to practice
- Observations and documentation is used to help support program planning that is meaningful to the individual needs of each child
Providers have access to community programs such as the EarlyON Child and Family Centres, Sudbury Public Library, neighbourhood parks and Splash Pads and Science North
Why Choose a Licensed Home Child Care Program?
- Updated Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check for provider AND anyone living in the home over 18 years of age.
- Home MUST be smoke free
- ALL family members must have up-to-date immunizations
- ALL pets must have their rabies vaccines
- Standard First Aid Level C CPR & AED (incl. infant/child)
- House insurance which covers the home-based business
- Approved child car seat restraint information session and vehicle insurance which covers children in care (if transporting)
- Must adhere to the Child Care and Early Years Act regulations
- Compliance with Fire Services visits
- Follow the Ministry of Education professional resources to plan an Early Learning Environment based on the individual needs and development of each child in care
- We provide scheduled and unscheduled home visits

- early learning resources and mentorship
Selecting the right home child care setting for your child is important. We work in partnership with parents and caregivers to ensure that each child experiences a stimulating, nurturing program within a safe, home setting.

Birth to 2 Years of Age
Licensed Home Child Care Providers may provide care for no more than three children under two years of age.
2 to 4 Years of Age
Licensed Home Child Care Providers may provide care for no more than six children under twelve years of age.
(Please be aware that Unregulated Home Child Care providers are limited to caring for a maximum of five children under the age of twelve.)
Before and After School (including school holidays)
Licensed Home Child Care Providers may provide care for no more than six children under twelve years of age.

Once you have reviewed the provider package and completed the Provider Application, we are one step closer to beginning the Approval Process!
Approval Process
This process is done at your pace, there is no specific time frame to complete it in. Our Home Child Care Consultants support you as you establish your home based business.
Following an engaging “get to know you” Zoom visit, if we both feel it’s the right fit, an HCC Home Consultant will schedule an in-person visit to your home. From there, you will be expertly guided through every essential step to launch your business with confidence. We will assist in arranging a Fire Services visit, guide you through gathering the required documents, and provide a thorough orientation. Through mentoring sessions and ongoing support, our team will be by your side to ensure you’re prepared to operate a successful home child care program.
